Life and Lemons

When life gives you lemons
And you discover they are actually limes;
you squeeze one half over succulent tandoori chicken.
The other half you slice and wedge
onto tall glasses of 'soda-and-water',
slip in a straw,
and stir the dregs of
sweetened citric concentrate.
The sour sun sinks into a void,
juiced out.
You put your lemonade memory out there
for the world to see and taste.
